Mike Smith, Winemaker, enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling, and wine, of course! He loves to cook for friends and family, and even makes his own beer and wine through his own wine label, Myriad Cellars. Mike’s ultimate goal with Scarlett Wines is to earn 100 points from a wine critic for the brand, but while he works hard toward this goal, he enjoys sipping a Scarlett Cabernet Sauvignon paired with ruffles potato chips and a big Flannery steak!
Mattie Cooper, President of Scarlett Wines, is a fifth-generation resident of the East Bay. Growing up in the cattle business with her family she loves horses, gardening, and watching her kids get involved with sports. While she’s also a Pinot Noir fan, her favorite Scarlett wines are the Rosé and Petit Verdot. She loves a good BBQ rib recipe paired with Scarlett’s Zinfandel, or a medium rare filet or ribeye steak with the Scarlett Cab!
Sherratt Reicher, founder of Scarlett Wines (formerly McGah Family Cellars), has been heavily involved in the wine business since 2006 when the family first began making wine. The McGah Family Vineyards were purchased/founded by his grandfather in 1990. But his family doesn’t just love wine - the McGah’s have been heavily involved in the professional sports industries for decades as co-founders of the Oakland Raiders. Sherratt himself has been heavily involved in football throughout his life, and boasts six Superbowl rings between his own, his grandfather, and great grandfather.
